Is CardInv really free?

Yes. The free tier has no card limit — track tens of thousands of cards, build any number of decks, and share binders publicly. PRO unlocks unlimited scanning, more wishlist slots, longer price history, and CSV export.

Where do the prices come from?

Accepted Answer

Market prices from Cardmarket (in EUR) and TCGplayer (in USD), refreshed daily. Each card variant and condition has its own price entry, and every card page shows a history chart so you can see how prices moved over time.

Does the camera scanner need an app?

Accepted Answer

No. It runs directly in your browser using your phone's camera. Hold the card up, snap it, and CardInv finds the match in your catalog automatically — no app install needed.

Which games and sets are supported?

Pokémon and Rise TCG today, with more trading card games on the way. For Pokémon that's every set ever printed, in both English and German — from Base Set (1999) right up to the latest release. New sets are added shortly after they launch.

Can I import my existing collection?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CSV import accepts the usual eBay, Whatnot, and Shopify export formats plus a generic CSV. Duplicates are detected up-front and you choose whether to merge quantities, skip them, or create new entries.

Question 6

How does the wishlist alert work?

Accepted Answer

Add a card to your wishlist with a target price. When the market price drops below that target, you get an email — at most once per week per card, so flickering prices don't spam your inbox.

Question 7

Where is my data stored?

On servers in Germany. A full data export is one click in Settings (per GDPR Art. 20), and account deletion permanently removes everything in another click.

Question 8

How are sign-ups secured?

Three sign-in options: a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or password manager), Discord OAuth, or an email magic-link. No passwords are stored. Sessions last 30 days and you can revoke them any time.
